Meet a Maker: Aiswarya Devi

This month we are featuring Aiswarya Devi. The library is highlighting members of our community who use the Launch Pad to create artisan crafts.

What do you like to do in the Launch Pad or creatively in your free time?

I’m passionate about crafting unique, personalized items using The Launch Pad’s cutting-edge tools. My favorites include the Laser Engraver for decorative wall art and ethnic festive gifts, Button Maker for accessories, and Sublimation Printing for customized mugs. I love exploring new techniques and materials to bring my ideas to life.

What inspires your creativity?

My fascination with personalized gifts sparked my creative journey. Attending workshops and events at Indian Trails Public Library and Prospect Heights Public Library, such as Inkscape and 3D printing, fueled my curiosity. Getting introduced to the “Creative Bug” platform helped me involve my kid in the process and create at our own pace. Encouragement from friends, family, and The Launch Pad community drives me to continue creating meaningful pieces of art to cherish.

What do you like about making?

I enjoy the entire creative process – conceptualizing, designing, and bringing ideas to life. It helps me cultivate a growth mindset, embrace imperfections, and learn from them. It’s rewarding to see a project evolve from idea to reality.

What advice do you have for aspiring creatives?

I’d love to see everyone leverage The Launch Pad’s incredible resources! Explore enthusiastically, connect with the welcoming community, and create your own masterpieces! Most importantly, have fun!

Thanks, Aiswarya Devi, for sharing your makerspace experience.
